Chat history not syncing between devices
Your chats, My Library, and personalization are stored on your account and should appear on every device you sign in to. If you notice a chat is missing on one device, run through this list.
Check you're signed in to the same account
- Different devices sometimes end up signed in to different accounts (e.g. a Google account on one, email/password on another).
- On each device, click your name in the sidebar and confirm the email address is the same.
Force a refresh
- Web / desktop PWA: hit the refresh button, or press Ctrl+R / ⌘R.
- iOS / Android app: pull down on the chat history to refresh.
Check you're in the right Organization
If you belong to more than one Organization, each switches the view: chats created while you were in Organization A won't appear when you're viewing Organization B (or your personal account). Switch contexts from the account menu.
Temporary chats don't sync
Temporary chats (Incognito) aren't saved to your account, so they only exist in the session that created them. See Temporary Chat (Incognito).
Recently deleted chats
- A chat deleted from any device is deleted everywhere.
- A cleared prompt history via Data controls → Clear All Prompts removes every chat across every device. See How do I clear my prompt history?.
Extensions and privacy tools
Some browser extensions (privacy blockers, session isolators) can break the connection to our servers. Try:
- Disabling the extension for magisterium.com.
- Trying a different browser or the mobile app.
Still missing
If a specific chat still doesn't appear across devices, contact us and choose Bug reporting with:
- The email on your account.
- The approximate date/time of the chat.
- The device(s) it's on and the device(s) it isn't on.
