The Adult Choir (ages 20 and above) rehearses on Wednesdays at 7pm in the church and sings each Sunday at the 10am Mass.

Any child from 3rd to 8th grade is welcome to join this ministry of assisting the priest during the weekend Masses.

A team of parishioners makes visits to those who are sick and not able to get out for themselves. Upon request, a Eucharistic minister will come to the home to bring Communion.

Sr. Joanne has many years of experience helping families and individuals through the loss of a loved one. In the case where more help is required, Sr. Joanne, as well as Fr. Bob, is able to provide excellent resources for support groups in the area as well as professional help. Sr. Joanne is also available to help families plan funeral Masses for their loved ones.

Children's Liturgy of the Word occurs once per month during the 10am Mass.

Plans and implements interior and exterior decorations for the church for all seasons.

Those who wish to help to give Communion at Mass, or bring it to those who are homebound, are invited to join this ministry.

As a parish, we collaborate with many other parishes to support Eva's Kitchen in Paterson.

Family Promise is the only organization in Bergen County helping working families overcome the crisis of temporary homelessness. Sacred Heart plays a big part in its success. We host the shelter three times a year and volunteers are needed to assist with serving and cleaning up, or to spend the night as a chaperone.

Non-perishable food items can be left inside the front lobby of the church. These donations are delivered to local food pantries on Wednesdays after morning Mass.

Every year we help needy families through Catholic Charities in Newark.

The Joyful Noise Youth Choir (grades 3-8) rehearses on Wednesdays from 4pm-5pm in the church and sings once per month at the 10am Mass on Sundays.

A Lector is one who proclaims the readings from Sacred Scripture (with the exception of the Gospel). They may also announce the intentions for the Universal Prayer and, in the absence of a psalmist, recite the Psalm between the readings.

Every other Saturday morning, a group of 25-30 men from our parish gather to share their faith through their personal life experiences.

Our parish nurse provides periodic updates on health topics as well as periodic blood pressure screenings.

There is a phone and e-mail prayer relay for people who request prayers. No special prayer is said. First names are used only.

As a parish that stresses putting into action our pro-life commitment, we collaborate with many organizations to assist those in need of such services.

Also known as ministers of hospitality, our ushers help to ensure the smooth running of the liturgical celebration.

This group meets on Thursday mornings from 9:30-11:00. Women come together to discuss a chapter in a book they have chosen, share experiences, laughter, hopes, and dreams. Most importantly they share their faith. We meet in the parish center.
