Bishop of Morón
Bishop Alejandro Pablo Benna is Bishop of Morón, Argentina. He was born on 12 November 1959 in Buenos Aires. He studied at the Archdiocesan Seminary of Buenos Aires and was ordained a priest on 14 November 1987. As a priest he has held the following offices: parish vicar of the parishes of Nuestra Señora de Balvanera, San Ramón Nonato, Nuestra Señora de la Anunciación, and Santa Ana y San Joaquín in Buenos Aires; executive director of the episcopal vicariate for youth; assessor of the Instituto Nacional de Formación de Pastoral de Juventud Cardenal Eduardo Francisco Pironio; member of the Asociación Eclesiástica de San Pedro; and pastor of Santa Ana y San Joaquín in Buenos Aires and San Francisco de Asís in Lavallol, in the Diocese of Lomas de Zamora. On 28 November 2017, he was appointed titular bishop of Vardimissa and auxiliary bishop of Comodoro Rivadavia, receiving episcopal ordination the following 23 December. After being appointed apostolic administrator of the Diocese of Alto Valle del Río Negro, on 9 July 2021 he was appointed bishop of the same see. Within the Argentine Episcopal Conference, he is a member of the Council for Economic Affairs.
