Bishop of Pemba
António Juliasse Ferreira Sandramo was born in Soalpo (Chimoio), in the province of Manica, on March 20, 1968. After completing his primary and secondary education in Soalpo, he attended the Good Shepherd Propedeutic Seminary in Beira (1988–1989), the Saint Augustine Interdiocesan Philosophical Seminary in Matola (1990–1992), and the Saint Pius X Interdiocesan Theological Seminary in Maputo (1993–1996). He was ordained a priest for the Diocese of Chimoio on June 28, 1998. Following his ordination, he held the following positions: 1998–2002, Parochial Vicar of *Nossa Senhora Rainha do Mundo* in Dombe and *Nossa Senhora das Relíquias* in Sussundenga; 1998–2001, Coordinator of the Diocesan Liturgy Commission; 2001–2003, Coordinator of the Diocesan Youth Commission; 2002–2005, Parish Administrator of *São Pedro e São Paulo* in Marera and Director of the Multipurpose Center; co-founder of two non-profit associations: *Kimatsirama* (for HIV prevention and support for young people with HIV) and *Cadeia de Solidariedade* (to assist young people living in poverty and abandonment); 2005–2009, studies in Portugal, earning a Licentiate in Dogmatic Theology (Universidade Católica Portuguesa), a Licentiate in Anthropology (Universidade Nova de Lisboa), and a Master’s degree in African Studies (Instituto Universitário de Lisboa); 2010–2014, Parish Priest of *São Paulo e São Jerônimo* in Soalpo and Coordinator of Diocesan Pastoral Care; since 2010, Dean of the diocesan priests of Chimoio. He is currently the Parish Priest of the Cathedral, Episcopal Vicar for the Central Zone, and a member of the Diocesan Presbyteral Council; he also serves as Secretary of the Episcopal Commission for Culture (within the Episcopal Conference) and as a lecturer in Anthropology at the Catholic University of Mozambique.
