Bishop of Cuautitlán
Bishop Efraín Mendoza Cruz, Bishop of Cuautitlán, was born on November 24, 1959, in Tlalnepantla, in the Diocese of Tlalnepantla. Having completed his studies in philosophy and theology, he obtained diplomas in social ministry from IMDOSOC and in catechesis from ITEPAL. He was ordained a deacon on October 12, 1987, and a priest for Tlalnepantla on October 18, 1988. As a priest he served as formator in the minor and major seminaries, parish priest in various parishes, and coordinator of prophetic ministry for the diocese and for the ecclesiastical province. He was also episcopal vicar of the third pastoral zone of Tlalnepantla, and subsequently rector of the major seminary of Tlalnepantla. On June 4, 2011, he was appointed Titular Bishop of Cubda and Auxiliary Bishop of Tlalnepantla. He received episcopal ordination on July 27, 2011, at Naucalpan, with Carlos Aguiar Retes as principal consecrator and Norberto Rivera Carrera and Christophe Louis Yves Georges Pierre as co-consecrators. On November 9, 2022, he was appointed Bishop of Cuautitlán, and he was installed on January 17, 2023.
