Archbishop of Cumaná
Archbishop Ángel Francisco Caraballo Fermín, Archbishop of Cumaná, Venezuela, was born in Puerto Ordaz, Diocese of Ciudad Guayana, on 30 May 1965. He completed ecclesiastical studies in philosophy at Divina Pastora Major Seminary of the Archdiocese of Barquisimeto and theological studies at the University of Navarra in Spain. He obtained a licentiate in canon law at the Pontifical University of the Holy Cross in Rome and a specialization in canon law and the family at the same Pontifical University of the Holy Cross in Rome. He was ordained priest on 7 December 1991. After priestly ordination he held the following offices: vice pastor and pastor of Nuestra Señora de Fátima in Puerto Ordaz, pastor of Nuestra Señora del Valle in Puerto Ordaz, professor of canon law at El Buen Pastor Major Seminary in Ciudad Bolivar, vicar general of the diocese, judicial vicar, and, from 2009, pastor of Santísimos Pedro y Pablo Parish in Puerto Ordaz.
