Bishop of Patos
Eraldo Bispo da Silva is Bishop of Patos, Paraíba, Brazil. He was born on 13 August 1966 in Monteiro, Diocese of Campina Grande, Paraíba. He completed philosophy studies at IFITEG - São João Maria Vianney Interdiocesan Seminary in Goiânia (1986-1988) and theology studies at São João Maria Vianney Interdiocesan Seminary (1989-1992). He has a specialization in methodology of priestly formation from UCSAL - Universidade Católica de Salvador (2001-2002) and in canon law from ITEPAL - Instituto Teológico Pastoral para América Latina, in Bogotá, Colombia (2002). He was ordained a priest on 24 April 1993 and incardinated in the Diocese of Barreiras, Bahia. During priestly ministry he held the following offices: parochial vicar of Santa Rita de Cássia parish, in the city of the same name, Diocese of Barreiras (1993); parish administrator of Nossa Senhora Aparecida parish in São Desidério (1994-2000); parish priest of Senhora Sant'Ana parish in Riachão das Neves (2000-2005); parish administrator of Nossa Senhora Aparecida parish in Luís Eduardo Magalhães (2005-2012); diocesan coordinator of pastoral ministry (1997-1999 and 2004-2006); officer responsible for the seminarians of the diocese (1999-2007); secretary of the presbyteral council; member of the college of consultors and of the economic-affairs council of the Diocese of Barreiras; auditor judge of the diocesan ecclesiastical chamber; and diocesan administrator of Barreiras (2010-2011). At the time of the source, he exercised his ministry as vicar general of the diocese and parish priest of Nossa Senhora do Perpétuo Socorro parish in Barreiras.
