Bishop of Quiché
Juan Manuel Cuá Ajucum was born on April 22, 1962, in Totonicapán, within the Metropolitan Archdiocese of Los Altos, Quetzaltenango-Totonicapán. After completing his studies at the National Major Seminary, he was ordained a priest on May 13, 1995, and incardinated into the Metropolitan Archdiocese of Santiago de Guatemala. He held the following positions and pursued further studies: Parochial Vicar of San Juan Sacatepequez (1995); Licentiate in Dogmatic Theology from the Pontifical University of the Holy Cross in Rome (1996–1998); Parish Priest of San Pedro Apóstol (1998–2001); Formator at the National Major Seminary (2001–2004); Parish Priest of San Juan María Vianney (2004–2018); Assistant Secretary of the Episcopal Conference (2008–2012); Parish Priest of Nuestra Señora del Rosario; and Director of the Archdiocesan Pastoral Center and Member of the College of Consultors (2018–2021). On March 27, 2021, he was appointed Titular Bishop of Rosella and Auxiliary Bishop of the Archdiocese of Los Altos, Quetzaltenango-Totonicapán, and received episcopal ordination on June 24, 2021.
