Bishop Tesfasellassie Medhin

Bishop Tesfasellassie Medhin, Bishop of Adigrat (Ethiopian), was born on January 8, 1953, in Alitena, in the Eparchy of Adigrat. He attended secondary school at the eparchial college of Adigrat and his courses in philosophy and theology at the major seminary of the same city. He was ordained a priest for Adigrat on April 4, 1980, in Adigrat. He studied at the Jesuit Institute of Milltown Park, where he obtained a licentiate in philosophy. For fifteen years he was professor of philosophy, moral theology and communications studies at the major seminary of Adigrat, where between 1990 and 2000 he also served as bursar. He subsequently served as secretary general of the Catholic Secretariat of Adigrat. On November 16, 2001, he was appointed Bishop of Adigrat (Ethiopian). He received episcopal ordination on January 20, 2002, at Adigrat, with Berhaneyesus Demerew Souraphiel as principal consecrator and Kidane-Mariam Teklehaimanot and Yohannes Woldegiorgis as co-consecrators.
