Bishop Cyr-Nestor Yapaupa

Cyr-Nestor Yapaupa was born on February 26, 1970, in Bangassou. He studied philosophy and theology in his home country at the Saint Marc Major Seminary in Bangui. He was ordained a priest on March 18, 2001. Initially incardinated in the Diocese of Bangassou, he later transferred to the Diocese of Alindao, which was created from the territory of Bangassou on December 18, 2004. Following his ordination, he held the following positions: 2001–2002: coordinator of vocational groups; 2001–2004: parochial vicar; from 2003: head of the diocesan Liturgy Commission; from 2004: diocesan secretary for Catholic education; from 2005: Cathedral parish priest, diocesan chaplain of the Saint Rita Association, and diocesan chaplain for choral groups. Since 2006, he has served as Vicar General of the Diocese of Alindao.
