Archbishop Polito Rodríguez Méndez, Archbishop of Barquisimeto, was born on August 13, 1967, in Santa Bárbara, Venezuela, in the Diocese of Barinas. He was ordained a priest for Barinas on July 31, 1999. On April 8, 2016, he was appointed Bishop of San Carlos de Venezuela. He received episcopal ordination on June 18, 2016, with José Luis Azuaje Ayala as principal consecrator and Reinaldo del Prette Lissot and Ramón Antonio Linares Sandoval as co-consecrators. He was installed as Bishop of San Carlos de Venezuela on June 25, 2016. On June 28, 2024, he was appointed Archbishop of Barquisimeto. He was installed as Archbishop of Barquisimeto on August 17, 2024.
