Bishop of Bluefields
Francisco José Tigerino Dávila was born on October 18, 1963, in Chinandega, in the Diocese of León, Nicaragua. After completing his primary and secondary education, he studied at Rockhurst University in Kansas City (USA) from 1991 to 1993, where he obtained a Bachelor's degree in Education. He also studied Philosophy and Theology at the *Nuestra Señora de Fátima* National Interdiocesan Seminary in Managua. He was ordained a priest on January 5, 2002, and incardinated into the Diocese of León. Following his ordination, he held the following positions: Parochial Vicar of *Inmaculada Concepción* in Villanueva (Chinandega) (2002–2003); Parish Priest and Rector of the *Nuestro Señor de Milagros* National Shrine in El Sauce (2003–2009); Member of the Presbyteral Council of the Diocese of León (since 2005); Secretary of the Presbyteral Council (2006–2008); Spiritual Director of the *Nuestra Señora de Fátima* National Interdiocesan Seminary (Managua) (2009–2012); Parish Priest of *San Blas* in Chichigalpa (Chinandega) (2013–2016); Head of ongoing formation for the clergy of the Diocese of León (since 2014); Rector of the *San Ramón* Diocesan College (León) (2016–2017); and Rector of the *Nuestra Señora de Fátima* National Interdiocesan Seminary (Managua) (since 2018).
