Apostolic Visitor
The bishop of the eparchy is His Excellency Bishop Mar Habib Hormiz Al-Nawfali, who was born in Baqofa. He studied at the College of Science of Mosul, Department of Geology, and obtained a master's degree in 1989. He entered the Patriarchal Seminary and taught at Babel College and at the Christian Education Institute. He was ordained a priest in 1998 and was assigned to serve the Church of Mar Gewargis in Baghdad. He also worked with the journals Bayn al-Nahrayn and Najm al-Mashriq, and in the ecclesiastical tribunal as registrar and lawyer. He later served the Chaldean mission in Britain from 2004 and also obtained a master's degree in practical theology.
