Archbishop Rex Andrew Clement Alarcon

Archbishop Rex Andrew Clement Alarcon, Archbishop of Caceres [Nueva Caceres], Philippines, was born in Daet, Camarines Norte, in the Diocese of Daet, Philippines, on 6 August 1970. After high school and philosophy courses at Holy Rosary Minor Seminary in Naga, he studied theology at the University of Santo Tomas in Manila. He was ordained a priest for the Archdiocese of Caceres on 9 November 1996. He held the following positions and pursued further studies: parochial vicar of Saint John the Evangelist in Naga and educator in the minor seminary from 1996 to 1997; secretary to the archbishop from 1997 to 1999; licentiate in Church History at the Pontifical Gregorian University in Rome from 1999 to 2001; teacher at Holy Rosary Minor Seminary; director of the stewardship program of the Archdiocese of Caceres; superintendent of Naga Parochial School and president of the Catholic Association of Education; superintendent of the Catholic schools of the archdiocese, member of the college of consultors, and spokesperson for the same archdiocese; and president of the Catholic Educational Association of the Philippines. He was elected Bishop of Daet on 2 January 2019 and consecrated on the following 19 March 2019.
