Bishop of Chingleput
Anthonisamy Neethinathan was born on July 3, 1955, in Kakkanur, in the Archdiocese of Pondicherry and Cuddalore. He was ordained a priest on May 9, 1987, and incardinated into the Archdiocese of Madras and Mylapore. In 1996, he was sent to the United States to complete his studies, where he earned a Master’s degree in Pastoral Theology from St. John’s University in New York. He has held the following positions: Assistant Director of the Pastoral Centre and Diocesan Youth Chaplain, Promoter of Vocations, Inspector of Catechism and Moral Education for schools, Director of the Chingleput Rural Development Society, parish priest, and Professor and Vice-Rector of the Sacred Heart Seminary in Chennai.
