Bishop of Cleveland
Edward C. Malesic was born on August 14, 1960, in Harrisburg, Pennsylvania. He attended the Pontifical College Josephinum in Columbus, Ohio, where he earned a Bachelor of Arts degree (1983) and a Master of Divinity degree (1987). Subsequently, he obtained a Licentiate in Canon Law from the Catholic University of America in Washington, D.C. (1998). He was ordained a priest for the Diocese of Harrisburg on May 30, 1987. Following his ordination, he held the following positions: Parochial Vicar at Saint Theresa of the Infant Jesus Parish in New Cumberland (1987–1989) and at Saint Rose of Lima Parish in York (1989–1992); Chaplain at York College in York (1989–1992) and at Millersville University in Millersville (1992–1996); Auditor (1996–1998) and Defender of the Bond and Canonical Consultant (1998–2000) for the Ecclesiastical Tribunal of Harrisburg; Adjunct Judicial Vicar (1991–2006); Pastor of Holy Infant Parish in York Haven (2004–present); and Judicial Vicar (2006–present).
