He was born in Las Tablas, Los Santos Province, on July 23, 1967. He completed his primary education in Guararé and his secondary education in Chitré. He began studies in journalism but suspended them to enter the Order of Saint Augustine. He completed his novitiate at the Monastery of San Lorenzo del Escorial (Madrid, Spain). He pursued studies in philosophy and theology at the San José Major Seminary in Panama and at the Monastery of San Lorenzo del Escorial. He made his perpetual vows in the Order of Saint Augustine on August 11, 1995, in Chitré. He obtained a Licentiate degree in Philosophy, Ethics, and Religion from Santa María La Antigua University (USMA) in Panama and a Licentiate degree in Education, specializing in school administration, from the Autonomous University of Chiriquí (UNACHI). He was ordained a priest on May 4, 2002, in the city of David. Pope Francis appointed him Bishop of the Diocese of Colón-Kuna Yala on July 7, 2014. His episcopal ordination and canonical installation took place on September 27, 2014. Positions held: Prior to his priestly ordination, he was appointed teacher and administrator at San Agustín School in the Diocese of David. In 2006, he served as Superior and Parish Priest of the "Jesús Obrero" Mission Center in Tolé—covering a vast area of the Ngäbe-Buglé Comarca—within the Diocese of David. In 2010, he became Prior of the "San Alonso Orozco" Convent and Parish Priest of Our Lady of the Rosary Parish in the Diocese of Chitré. He has served as a diocesan official and member of the College of Consultors in the Diocese of Chitré since 2013. He is a member of the Council of the Order of Saint Augustine in Panama and a delegate for Panama to the Organization of Augustinians in Latin America. He serves as the diocesan advisor for the Christian Family Movement, chaplain of the Azuero Regional University Center (CRUA), diocesan delegate for prison ministry, and coordinator of the diocesan missions team.
