Otair Nicoletti was born on April 6, 1962, in Fernandópolis, in the Diocese of Jales. He was a student at the *Seminário Maior Regional Maria Mãe da Igreja* in Campo Grande (MS); in the same city, he completed his studies in Philosophy at the *Universidade Católica Dom Bosco* (1989) and in Theology at the *Instituto Teológico João Paulo II* (1994). He was ordained a priest on June 18, 1994, and incardinated into the Diocese of Dourados, where he held the following positions: Parochial Vicar of *São Paulo Apóstolo* in Ivinhema (MS) and of *Imaculado Coração de Maria* in Nova Andradina (MS); Parish Priest of *Divino Espírito Santo* in Ponta Porã (MS), *Santa Teresinha* in Dourados (MS), *Santo André* in Dourados (MS), *Nossa Senhora Aparecida* in Novo Horizonte do Sul (MS), and *São Pedro* in Dourados (MS); Rector of the *Nossa Senhora Aparecida* Diocesan Shrine in Dourados (MS); and Rector of the *Sagrado Coração de Jesus* Seminary in Dourados (MS). Furthermore, he served as Diocesan Coordinator for vocational promotion; Clergy Representative; member of the Presbyteral Council, the College of Consultors, and the Diocesan Council for Economic Affairs; Spiritual Director for Permanent Deacons; President of Diocesan Caritas; and member of the Diocesan Pastoral Coordination team and the coordination team for the diocesan facility for the rehabilitation of substance abusers.
