Diocese of Daet

Msgr. Herman Guinto Abcede was born on 13 April 1965 in Vinzons, Camarines Norte, in the diocese of Daet. After attending Vinzons Pilot High School, he obtained a Bachelor of Philosophy at the University of Santo Tomas in Manila. He studied philosophy at the Rogationist Seminary of Manila and theology at the Don Bosco School of Theology of Parañaque City. He obtained a licentiate in canon law from the Pontifical Lateran University of Rome. He gave his perpetual vows in 1991 and received priestly ordination on 8 June 1996. He has held the following offices: collaborator at Our Lady of the Most Holy Rosary, Parañaque (1996-1997); assistant to the treasurer and counsellor of St. Anthony’s Boys Village, Silang, Cavite; treasurer and director of spiritual affairs of the Rogationist Academy, Silang, Cavite (1997-2000); superior (2000-2003), treasurer (2002), professor and prefect of studies at the Blessed Hannibal Formation Center, Cebu; counsellor and secretary for the Philippines at the Indian Delegations of Rogationists (2003-2007); counsellor at the Blessed Hannibal Rogate Center, Parañaque (2004); administrator of St. Francis Xavier, Parang, Bataan (2005-2007); counsellor of the delegate for the Philippines (2007-2010); treasurer and vice rector of the Rogationist College and House Councillor, St. Anthony’s Boys Village, Silang, Cavite (2007); superior and treasurer of St. Anthony’s Boys Village and rector of the Rogationist Academy, Toril, Davao (2008-2009); superior and treasurer of St. Anthony’s Boys Village, Silang, Cavite (2009-2010 major superior of the Filipino delegation of the Rogationists -Philippine Quasi Province (2010-2014); provincial superior of St. Matthew Province (2010-2018); member of the Association of the Major Religious Superiors in the Philippines/AMRSP; member of the Canon Law Society of the Philippines/CLSP; lecturer of Canon Law and Religious Life to the Novices of various Congregations, in Tagaytay. Since 2018 he has been a member of the Matrimonial Tribunal of the Diocese of Parañaque and defender of the bond; since 2021, he is judge of the same tribunal, and since 2023, superior of the Community at Our Lady of the Most Holy Rosary, Parañaque City.
