Bishop of Farafangana
Bishop Marcellin Randriamamonjy was born on 12 April 1963 in Sandrandahy, diocese of Ambositra. He was ordained a priest on 30 August 1992, and subsequently exercised his pastoral ministry in two districts of the metropolitan archdiocese of Fianarantsoa. He obtained a licentiate in theology in Ambatoroka, Antananarivo (1996-1998), and a degree in theology from Lyon, France (1998-2000). He served as an educator, lecturer and prefect of the interdiocesan major seminary in Vohitsoa, Fianarantosoa (2001-2003), and rector of the same seminary (2003-2008). On 10 February 2009 he was appointed as bishop of the diocese of Fenoarivo Atsinanana, receiving episcopal consecration the following 17 May.
