Bishop of Franceville
Ephrem Ndjoni was born on February 11, 1973, in Moanda, in the Diocese of Franceville. He completed the propaedeutic year at St. Augustin Major Seminary (1994–1995) and studied philosophy at the Spiritan Fathers' Daniel Brottier Seminary (1995–1997) and modern literature at Omar Bongo University in Libreville (1997–1998). He was ordained a priest for the Diocese of Franceville on July 6, 2003. Following his ordination, he undertook the following: studies at the Pontifical Biblical Institute in Rome (2003–2004); a Licentiate degree from the Studium Biblicum Franciscanum in Jerusalem (2005–2011); and a Doctorate in Biblical Theology from the Pontifical Urban University (2012–2016). Since 2016, he has served as Parish Priest of Saint Hilaire Cathedral in the Diocese of Franceville; Lecturer in Sacred Scripture at St. Augustin Major Seminary in Libreville; Coordinator of the National Biblical Apostolate; member of the Commission for the Doctrine of the Faith of the Gabonese Episcopal Conference; and representative of the Catholic Church on the Economic, Social and Environmental Council (CESE).
