Bishop Raymond Ahoua

Bishop Raymond Ahoua, F.D.P., Bishop of Grand-Bassam, Côte d'Ivoire, was born in Bonoua on 1 May 1960, in the Diocese of Grand Bassam. At age 14 he began working in the technical center of the Orionine Fathers at Anyama. From 1978 to 1982 he completed secondary school in the seminary for adult vocations in Dapaong, Togo. From 1983 to 1985 he studied philosophy in Bologna, Italy. He then studied theology at the Major Seminary of Anyama, Abidjan. He made perpetual profession on 6 January 1990 in the Congregation of the Little Work of Divine Providence, F.D.P., and was ordained a priest on 14 July 1990. After priestly ordination he carried out the following assignments: from 1990 to 1996, parish vicar of Bonoua and licentiate in Canon Law; from 1992 to 1996, director of the Technical Center of Bonoua; from 1994 to 1998, professor at the Catholic University of West Africa (UCAO); from 1996 to 1998, in charge of the scholasticate of Don Orione Seminary at Anyama; from 1998 to 2009, missionary in Kenya and degree in Biblical Theology in Nairobi; from 1998 to 2001, parish vicar at Kaburugi, in the Diocese of Moranga, Kenya; from 2001 to 2008, in charge of the postulants in Nairobi, Kenya; and from 2003 to 2009, professor at the Theological Institute of the Consolata in Nairobi, Kenya. From 2009, after returning to Côte d'Ivoire after 12 years of mission, he was in charge of the formation of the major seminarians of his congregation.
