Bishop of Grosseto
The Holy Father has accepted the resignation from the pastoral governance of the Dioceses of Grosseto and of Pitigliano-Sovana-Orbetello—united *in persona Episcopi*—presented by H.E. Msgr. Gianni Roncari, O.F.M. Cap., and has appointed Bernardino Giordano as Bishop of the same Dioceses (once again united *in persona Episcopi*). Msgr. Giordano belongs to the Diocese of Saluzzo and has been serving as a *fidei donum* priest in the Territorial Prelature of Loreto, where he held the role of Vicar General of the Pontifical Delegation for the Shrine. H.E. Msgr. Bernardino Giordano, Bishop of Grosseto and Bishop of Pitigliano-Sovana-Orbetello, was born on March 23, 1970, in Turin, within the Metropolitan Archdiocese of the same name. He earned a degree in Economics from the University of Turin. After entering the Diocesan Seminary of Saluzzo, he was ordained a priest for that Diocese on December 15, 2001. He has held the following positions and pursued further studies: Doctorate in Moral Theology from the Pontifical Alphonsian Academy in Rome; lecturer at the Interdiocesan Theological Study Center and at the Higher Institute of Religious Sciences in Fossano; Parochial Vicar at the Cathedral of Saluzzo; Defender of the Bond and Promoter of Justice for the Diocesan Tribunal; Diocesan Chancellor (2008–2011); Director of the Diocesan Vocations Center and Head of the Diocesan Office for Family Pastoral Care (2008); Assistant to the Director of the National Office for Family Pastoral Care of the Italian Episcopal Conference (2011); collaborator at the General Secretariat of the Italian Episcopal Conference (2013–2014); President and Board Member of the “G.G. Ancina” Pastoral Ministry Foundation in Saluzzo and Parochial Vicar in Castello and San Chiaffredo di Busca (2014); and Parish Priest of the Saints Martin and Bernard Parish in Saluzzo (2015). Since 2018, he has served as a *fidei donum* priest in the Territorial Prelature of Loreto and, since 2019, as Vicar General of the Pontifical Delegation, a member of the Board of Directors, and head of the Shrine’s family pastoral care.
