Bishop Louis Nguyên Anh Tuan

Incumbent Bishop: Louis Nguyen Anh Tuan. Bishop Louis Nguyen Anh Tuan was born on December 26, 1962, in Da Nang (with ancestral roots in Huong Khe, Ha Tinh) and was ordained a priest on June 30, 1999. On August 25, 2017, Pope Francis appointed him Auxiliary Bishop of the Archdiocese of Saigon and Titular Bishop of Catrum; his episcopal motto is "Here I am" (Hic Ego Sum). On March 19, 2021, following the acceptance of Bishop Paul Nguyen Thai Hop's resignation due to age, Pope Francis appointed Bishop Louis as Apostolic Administrator of the Diocese of Ha Tinh, while he continued to serve as Auxiliary Bishop of the Archdiocese of Saigon. The Mass marking the beginning of Bishop Louis's ministry as Apostolic Administrator was celebrated on April 29, 2021, at Van Hanh Cathedral. After two years serving as Apostolic Administrator, on March 25, 2023, Bishop Louis Nguyen Anh Tuan was appointed by Pope Francis as the Bishop of the Diocese of Ha Tinh. The Mass of Thanksgiving and the installation of Bishop Louis as the diocesan bishop were celebrated at Van Hanh Cathedral on the morning of April 22, 2023.
