Bishop of Hvar (-Brac e Vis)
Ranko Vidović was born on May 6, 1961, in Vidonje. After completing primary school in Mlinište near Metković, he attended the seminary high school in Split (1976–1980). He then continued his theological studies in Split as a seminarian for the Archdiocese of Split-Makarska. He was ordained a priest on June 29, 1986, at the Parish of Our Lady of Health (Gospa od zdravlja) in the Split-Dobra district and was incardinated into the Archdiocese of Split-Makarska. Following his ordination, he held the following positions: chaplain in Kaštel Kambelovac (1986–1988), parish priest in Split-Lovrinac (1988–2014), and parish priest of the Parish of Our Lady of the Island (Gospa od Otoka) in Solin (2014–2021). Additionally, he served as a member of the archdiocesan commission for seminaries and vocations starting December 5, 1988, and as Dean of the Solin Deanery from October 31, 2014. Pope Francis appointed him Bishop of Hvar on March 4, 2021. He was ordained bishop in the Cathedral of Hvar on May 22, 2021.
