Archbishop Joseph Arshad

Joseph Arshad is Archbishop, personal title, of Islamabad-Rawalpindi, Pakistan. Joseph Arshad was born on 25 August 1964 in Lahore. After primary and secondary school in Lahore, he began his priestly formation at Saint Mary's Minor Seminary in Lahore. He then continued theological studies at Christ the King Seminary in Karachi. After priestly ordination, which took place on 1 November 1991, he held the following positions: in 1991-1995, parochial vicar of Saint Joseph Catholic Church and responsible for Saint Peter's School in Kamokee-Gujranwala, while also undertaking journalism studies at the University of Punjab in Lahore; in 1995-1999, studies in Canon Law at the Pontifical Urbaniana University in Rome and then at the Pontifical Ecclesiastical Academy; in 1999-2002, diplomatic service at the Apostolic Nunciature in Malta; in 2002-2004, diplomatic service at the Apostolic Nunciature in Sri Lanka; in 2004-2007, diplomatic service at the Apostolic Nunciature in Bangladesh; in 2007-2010, diplomatic service at the Apostolic Nunciature in Madagascar; and from 2010, diplomatic service as counsellor at the Apostolic Nunciature in Bosnia-Herzegovina.
