Bishop of Kolwezi
Richard Kazadi Kamba was born on December 6, 1964, in Lubumbashi. He entered the Saint Paul Propaedeutic Seminary (1985–1986), studied philosophy at the same seminary in Lubumbashi (1986–1989), and theology at the Catholic University of Kinshasa (1989–1992). He was ordained a priest for the Archdiocese of Lubumbashi on September 19, 1992. Following his ordination, he undertook the following studies and roles: Licentiate in Theology at the Catholic University of Kinshasa (1992–1994) and Parochial Vicar of Saint Pierre; Notary of the Ecclesiastical Tribunal of Lubumbashi, Lecturer in Theology at Saint Paul Seminary, and Vicar of the Cathedral of Saints Peter and Paul (1994–1995); Sunday Vicar at Saint Muzeyi and Chaplain of the Saint Pierre residence for the elderly in Kinshasa (1995–1998); Licentiate in Philosophy and Lecturer in Catechetical Theology at the Jean XXIII Seminary in Kinshasa (1996–1998); Doctorate in Dogmatic Theology at the Pontifical Gregorian University (1998–2003); Parochial Vicar of Santo Stefano in Viterbo (2000–2007); Doctorate in Philosophy at the Pontifical University Antonianum (2004–2006); Visiting Professor at the Jesuit Faculty of Theology in Abidjan (2008–2009); Vice-Rector (2008–2010) and Lecturer in Theology, Philosophy, and Social Communications at the Saint Paul Major Seminary in Lubumbashi. Since 2010, he has served as Secretary and Spokesperson for the Provincial Episcopal Assembly of Lubumbashi, as well as Director General of the *Institut Supérieur Interdiocésain Monseigneur Mulolwa* and the Interdiocesan Center of Lubumbashi. Furthermore, from 2010 to 2012, he served as President of the Preparatory Commission for the 2nd Diocesan Synod of Lubumbashi; from 2012, as President of the Implementation Commission for the same Synod; and from 2019, as Technical Secretary of the Preparatory Committee for the 3rd National Eucharistic Congress in Lubumbashi.
