Bishop of Kurunegala
Harold Anthony Perera was born on June 9, 1951, in Bopitiya (Archdiocese of Colombo) into a Catholic family. He pursued his studies both in his home country and in Rome, obtaining a Licentiate in Theology from the Angelicum. He was ordained a priest on July 5, 1980, and incardinated into the Archdiocese of Colombo. He has served as an assistant parish priest, a parish priest, the bursar of the National Major Seminary in Kandy, Procurator General, Administrator of the Shrine of St. Anthony, and diocesan director of the Pontifical Mission Societies. He is currently the Director of the philosophy department at the National Major Seminary.
