Jean-Pierre Vuillemin was born on January 21, 1967, in Rambervillers, in the Diocese of Saint-Dié. After entering the Interdiocesan Seminary of Lorraine, he was ordained a priest on June 11, 1994, and incardinated into the Diocese of Saint-Dié. He held the following positions and pursued further studies: Parochial Vicar of Bruyères and Mirecourt (1994–2001); Parish Priest of La Croix-de-Virine in Dompaire (2004–2012); Official of the Interdiocesan Tribunal (Saint-Dié, Nancy, Verdun, and Dijon) (2004–2011); Doctorate in Canon and Civil Law (*Utroque Iure*) from the Institut Catholique de Paris (2006); Judicial Vicar of the Interdiocesan Tribunal of Besançon (2011–2019); Parish Priest-Dean of the parish communities of Épinal (2012–2019). On January 8, 2019, he was appointed Titular Bishop of Thérouanne and Auxiliary Bishop of Metz, receiving episcopal ordination on February 3, 2019. He also served as Apostolic Administrator (*sede vacante*) of the Diocese of Metz (2021–2022) and is a member of the Council for Family and Society and the Council for Canonical Questions within the French Bishops' Conference.
