Bishop of Limoeiro do Norte
Rev. Fr. André Vital Félix da Silva, S.C.I., was born on May 31, 1965, in Recife, in the state of Pernambuco. He pursued his studies in philosophy at the Salesian Institute of Philosophy in Recife and in theology at the Franciscan Institute of Theology in Olinda. He subsequently obtained a Licentiate in Biblical Theology from the Pontifical Gregorian University in Rome. He made his religious profession in the Congregation of the Dehonian Fathers on February 25, 1986, and was ordained a priest on January 2, 1991. As a priest, he has served in the following roles: parochial vicar, formator, parish administrator, vice-provincial, and member of the Dehonian Theological Commission for Latin America. He is currently a parochial vicar, a provincial councilor, and the secretary of the Provincial Council for the Dehonian Province of Brazil-Recife.
