Bishop of Mamfe
Msgr. Aloysius Fondong Abangalo was born on 5 June 1973 in Limbe, in the diocese of Buéa. He studied philosophy and theology at the Saint Thomas Aquinas Interdiocesan Major Seminary in Bambui, Bamenda. He was awarded a licentiate in canon law at the Université Catholique d’Afrique Centrale – UCAC (2011-2014). As a student he also exercised his ministry in the parish of Saint Peter and Paul in Simbock. From 2019 he has been studying for his doctorate in canon law at the Pontifical Urban University, Rome. He was ordained a priest on 20 April 2006 for the diocese of Buéa. He has held the following offices: vicar of the Holy Family parish in Limbe (2006-2007), rector of Our Lady of Grace College in Muyuka (2007-2009), diocesan bursar and member of the College of Consultors (2009-2011), teacher and formator in the Saint Thomas Aquinas Major Seminary of Bambui and defender of the bond at the Interdiocesan Tribunal of Bamenda (2014-2019).
