Bishop of Maroua-Mokolo
Bishop Bruno Ateba Edo, S.A.C., Bishop of Maroua-Mokolo, Cameroon, was born on 20 November 1964 in Zoetelé, in the diocese of Sangmélima. He entered the Pallottine Society, attending the novitiate in 1988-1989. He studied philosophy at the major seminary of Kabgayi in Rwanda and theology at the École Théologique Saint Cyprien in Ngoya, Cameroon. He subsequently obtained a licentiate in Pastoral Theology at the Pallottine Theological Institute in Vallendar, Germany. He made his first consecration on 15 August 1989 and his perpetual consecration on 2 October 1994. He was ordained a priest on 8 July 1995. After priestly ordination he held various offices: vicar and then pastor of Saints Peter and Paul in Mfoundi, Yaoundé, from 1995 to 2001; studies for the licentiate in Germany from 2001 to 2003; rector of the Pallottine theologate and of the Basilica Marie-Reine-des-Apôtres in Mvolyé, Yaoundé, Cameroon, from 2003 to 2009; and regional rector of the Pallottine Society for Cameroon and Nigeria from 2008. At the time of the source, he was president of the Conference of Major Superiors of Cameroon.
