Prefect of Marshall Islands
Rev. Fr. Tamati Alefosio Sefo, M.S.C., was born on April 28, 1972, in Tafitoala Safata, Samoa. After completing his philosophical and theological studies at the Pacific Regional Seminary in Suva, Fiji, he was ordained a priest on November 27, 2004. He has held the following positions and pursued further studies: Interim Parish Priest of St. Andrew’s in Faleula, Samoa (2005); Parish Priest of St. Agnes in Samabula, Fiji (2006–2009); a training course at the Marymount Mercy Centre, NSW, Australia (2010); Formator and subsequently Director of Formation for the M.S.C. (2011–2014); Chairman of the Chevalier Youth Trust Board (2015–2023); Superior of the M.S.C. Pacific Union (2015–2021); and M.S.C. Provincial Superior of the Pacific Islands (2021–2023). Since 2023, he has served as Parish Priest of St. Peter Chanel in Samoa.
