Bishop of Canada
The Holy Father has appointed Scott McCaig, C.C., as military ordinary for Canada. The bishop-elect was born in Duncan, Canada in 1965, gave his religious vows in 1990 and was ordained a priest in 1995. He holds a degree in history and a Master in Divinity, and has served in a number of roles within his congregation, of which he is currently superior general. He succeeds Bishop Donald Thériault, whose resignation was accepted by the Holy Father in accordance with canon 401 paragraph 2 of the Code of Canon Law.
