Bishop Stephen Nyodho Ador Majwok

Bishop Stephen Nyodho Ador Majwok, Bishop of Malakal, South Sudan, was born on 1 January 1973 in the village of Andong, Diocese of Malakal. He attended primary schools in Adong and Thawrat Malakal (1982-1989), and subsequently the Saint Lwanga Institute (1990-1997). He studied philosophy at Saint Paul's National Major Seminary in Khartoum from 1997 to 2000, and then theology from 2000 to 2005. On 15 May 2005 he was ordained a priest for the Diocese of Malakal. After ordination he held the following offices and pursued further studies: 2005-2008: parochial vicar of Christ the King Cathedral, Malakal; 2008-2009: interim parish priest of Christ the King Cathedral and director of the diocesan pastoral centre; 2009-2013: parish priest of the cathedral, diocesan coordinator for pastoral courses, youth chaplain, member of the college of diocesan consultors, and member of the diocesan investment group; 2013-2016: studies in Rome at the Pontifical Urban University for the licentiate in Moral Theology; 2016-2018: studies in Rome at the Pontifical University of Saint Thomas Aquinas for the doctorate in Moral Theology; from 2019: vicar general of the Diocese of Malakal.
