Bishop of Manga
Léopold Ouédraogo was born on June 8, 1953, in Ouagadougou. After completing his studies in philosophy and theology at the Saint Pierre Claver Major Seminary in Koumi, he was ordained a priest on June 30, 1979, and incardinated into the Archdiocese of Ouagadougou. Following his ordination, he held the following positions: 1979–1982: Parochial Vicar in Manga; 1982–1984: Teacher at the Saint Pierre et Paul Inter-Seminary; 1984–1986: Mathematics studies at the State University of Ouagadougou; 1986–1987: Parochial Vicar in Guilongou; 1987–1990: Studies for a Licentiate in Biblical Theology at the Catholic University of West Africa (UCAO) in Abidjan, Ivory Coast; 1990–1993: Parochial Vicar in Dapoya; 1993–1997: Professor at the Saint Jean Baptiste Major Seminary; 1997–1999: Professor at the Saint Pierre et Paul Major Seminary; 1999–2006: Rector of the Saint Pierre et Paul Major Seminary; 2006–2007: Sabbatical year in Italy; since 2007: Parish Priest at Saint Guillaume de Tanghin. Since 2009, he has served as Vicar General of the Archdiocese of Ouagadougou.
