Bishop of Mansa
Patrick Chisanga, O.F.M. Conv., was born on May 16, 1971, in Kamuchanga, in the Diocese of Ndola. After completing primary school in Buyantanshi and middle school in Mufulira (Ndola), he was admitted to the Minor Seminary in Ndola. In 1990, he entered the Order of Friars Minor Conventual as a postulant. He completed his novitiate in Solwezi and professed temporary vows in 1992. After completing his studies in philosophy and theology, he professed perpetual vows in Nairobi in 1998. He was ordained a priest on June 27, 1999. Following his ordination, he held the following positions: 1999–2001: Parish Priest of St. Michael and Noah Parish in Kitwe; 2001–2002: Vice-Guardian and Formator at Bonaventure College (Regina Pacis) in Chawama, Lusaka; 2002–2006: Advanced studies in Psychology in Rome at the Pontifical Gregorian University; 2006–2008: Guardian and Formation Director for theology students at Makeny Friary in Lusaka, while also serving as a Psychology lecturer at Bonaventure College in Lusaka; 2008–2012: Provincial Minister of the Friars Minor Conventual for the Province of Zambia and Malawi. He is currently a professor at St. Bonaventure College in Lusaka.
