Bishop of Mopti
Bishop Jean-Baptiste Tiama, Bishop of Mopti, was born on January 1, 1955, in Nazaré, Mali, in the Diocese of Prefecture Apostolic of Gao. He was ordained a priest on January 7, 1984. On November 5, 1998, he was appointed Bishop of Sikasso. He received episcopal ordination on February 13, 1999, at Sikasso, with Jean Zerbo as principal consecrator and Jean-Gabriel Diarra and Martin Albert Happe as co-consecrators. On March 27, 2020, he was appointed Apostolic Administrator of Sikasso and Bishop of Mopti. He ceased to hold the office of Bishop of Sikasso on February 11, 2023. He ceased to hold the office of Apostolic Administrator of Sikasso on February 11, 2023.
