Bishop of Norwich
Msgr. Richard Francis Reidy was born on 30 May 1958 in Worcester, United States of America, in the diocese of the same name. He obtained a bachelor’s degree in political sciences from the College of the Holy Cross in Worcester, and the Juris Doctor at Boston College. He carried out his ecclesiastical studies at Saint Mary Seminary in Baltimore, at the Pontifical Gregorian University in Rome, and at the Pontifical University of Saint Thomas Aquinas (Angelicum) in Rome. He obtained a licentiate in canon law from the Catholic University of America in Washington. He was ordained a priest on 25 June 1994 for the diocese of Worcester. He has held the following offices: parish vicar of Saint Peter (1994-1995), rector of the Cathedral (1995-2008), parish priest of Saint Ann in North Oxford (2010-2013), and administrator of various parishes. Since 2010, he has served as defender of the bond, and since 2013, vicar general and moderator of the Curia.
