Bishop of Nouakchott
Victor Ndione was born on April 1, 1973, in Thiès (Senegal). After attending school in Thiès and later in Fatick, he studied philosophy at the Major Seminary of Brin in Ziguinchor and theology at the Major Seminary of Sebikhotane in Dakar. He was ordained a priest on July 7, 2001, for the Diocese of Thiès. He held the following positions and pursued further studies: Parochial Vicar at Saint Joseph in Ndondol (2001–2003); *Fidei donum* priest in the Diocese of Nouakchott, becoming the first priest to be incardinated in Nouakchott on March 19, 2014 (2003–2014); studies at the Institute for Islamic-Christian Training in Bamako, Mali (2014–2015); Licentiate degree from the Pontifical Institute for Arabic and Islamic Studies in Rome (2016–2018); and, since 2018, Vicar General and person in charge of ongoing formation in the Diocese of Nouakchott.
