Archbishop John F. Du was born on October 18, 1954 in Bantayan, Cebu City. He was He was ordained a priest on on June 1, 1979. He was appointed Auxiliary Bishop of Cebu on November 21, 1997 by Pope John Paul II. His Episcopal ordination was on January 6, 1998. He is currently the Treasurer of the Catholic Bishops Confer- ence of the Philippines (CBCP) Permanent Council and Chairman of the CBCP Pension Plan Committee.
