Msgr. Rodrigo Gallego Trujillo was born on 13 March 1974 in Seville. He carried out his studies in philosophy and theology at the Juan Pablo II Major Seminary in the diocese of Armenia. He was ordained a priest on 5 December 1998. He was awarded a licentiate in spiritual theology from the Pontifical Gregorian University and a doctorate in theology from the Universidad Pontificia Bolivariana in Medellín. He has held the following offices: formator (1998-2000), teacher (2004-2009) and rector (2009-2018) in the Los Doce Apóstoles Major Seminary of the diocese of Buga, parish vicar of the Cathedral (2000-2002), and episcopal vicar for the economy (2018-2023). Since 2019, he has served as parish priest of the Cathedral of Buga, and since 2023, vicar general.
