Bishop Benedito Gonçalves dos Santos, Bishop of Presidente Prudente, was born on June 19, 1958, in Paracatu, Minas Gerais, Brazil, in the Diocese of Paracatu. He was ordained a priest for Paracatu on December 8, 1990. On April 16, 2008, he was appointed Bishop of Presidente Prudente. He received episcopal ordination on July 5, 2008, with Leonardo de Miranda Pereira as principal consecrator and José Cardoso Sobrinho and José Alberto Moura as co-consecrators. He was installed as Bishop of Presidente Prudente on August 17, 2008. His episcopal motto is "Facei tudo o que Ele vos disser".
