Bishop of Pyay
Bishop Peter Tin Wai was born on 2 July 1965 in Natshinchaung. He studied philosophy at the major seminary of Pyin Oo Lwin and theology at the major seminary of Yangon. He was ordained a priest on 21 March 1999 for the clergy of Pyay. After ordination, he first served as parish vicar of Sacred Heart, Rakhine (1999-2005). He was awarded a licentiate in moral theology from the Pontifical Alphonsian Academy in Rome (2005-2007), parish priest of Saint Mary’s, Natshinchaung, Minbya Township (2008-2009), professor of moral theology at the Institute of Theology of Saint Joseph, Yangon (2009-2012), rector of the Saint Paul Minor Seminary, Pyay (2012-2015), diocesan chancellor of Pyay (2015-2017), and since 2017, parish priest of Saint John the Baptist Catholic Church, Kyaupyu.
