Bishop of Quibdó
Monsignor Wiston Mosquera Moreno was born in Andagoya (Diocese of Istmina-Tadó) on March 17, 1967. He pursued his studies in philosophy and theology at the San Pedro Apóstol Major Seminary in Cali and was ordained a priest for the Archdiocese of Cali on March 19, 2005. He studied theology at the Pontifical Bolivarian University and earned a licentiate degree in philosophy and religious sciences from the Lumen Gentium Catholic University in Cali. He served as Parochial Vicar of Our Lady of the Rosary in Jamundí, Valle (2005); Parish Priest of Our Lady of Perpetual Help in Robles, Valle (2006–2011); Parish Priest of the Lord of Miracles in Cali (2011–2012); Rector of the Divine Mercy Sanctuary in Cali (2012–2017); Episcopal Vicar for the Eastern Zone (2012–2017); Vicar General (2017–2024); and Parish Priest of the San Pedro Apóstol Cathedral in Cali (2018–present). On July 5, 2024, Pope Francis appointed him Bishop of Quibdó. He received episcopal ordination on September 14 of that same year at the San Pedro Apóstol Cathedral in Cali from Monsignor Luis Fernando Rodríguez Velásquez. He took possession of his assigned see on October 5, 2024.
