Bishop of Quy Nhơn
Fr. Matthieu Nguyên Van Khôi was born on October 13, 1951, in Phuoc Son, Tuy Phuoc, Bình Định, in the Diocese of Quy Nhon. He completed his secondary studies at the Minor Seminary of Quy Nhon and pursued Philosophy and Theology at the Pontifical College of Đà Lạt (1970–1977), while also attending the Faculty of Letters at the Catholic University of Đà Lạt. He was ordained a priest on May 10, 1989, and incardinated into the Diocese of Quy Nhon. Following his ordination, he served as parish priest of Bình Định (1989–2000) and as a teacher at the Maris Stella Major Seminary in Nha Trang (1994–2000). He subsequently studied at the Pontifical Urban University in Rome, where he obtained a doctorate in Moral Theology (2000–2005). Since 2005, he has served as parish priest of the Quy Nhon Cathedral, Vicar Forane of the Bình Định region, a member of the College of Consultors, a member of the faculty for the ongoing formation of diocesan priests, and a professor of Moral Theology at the aforementioned seminary.
