Bishop of Rodez (-Vabres)
Luc Meyer was born on September 13, 1968, in La Ferté-Macé, in the Diocese of Séez. He studied Classical Letters at the *Université Catholique de l’Ouest* in Angers and the History of Christianity at the *Université Paris IV – Sorbonne*, subsequently teaching in Rennes, Le Mans, Angers, and Tours before entering the *Séminaire des Carmes* in Paris. In 2000, he obtained a Licentiate in Dogmatic Theology, and in 2006, a Higher Diploma in Theological Studies from the *Institut Catholique de Paris*. He was ordained a priest on May 7, 2000, for the Diocese of Laval. He held the following roles and ministries: Assistant to the Director of Catholic Education and person in charge of school pastoral care (2000–2004); collaborator at the La Trinité-Cathédrale-Avesnières-Cordeliers parish in Laval (2000–2007); Professor of Dogmatic Theology (2004–2010) and member of the formation team at the Saint-Jean Seminary in Nantes (2006–2010); collaborator at the Saint-Pierre – Saint-Vénérand parish in Laval (2007–2010); Rector of the Saint-Jean Seminary in Nantes (2010–2016); head of diocesan formation and spiritual accompaniment; and collaborator at the parishes of the *Doyenné des Pays* (2014–2016).
