Diocese of Samoa-Pago Pago

Kolio Etuale was born on March 17, 1973, in Lotofaga, Samoa. He received his formation at Mount Angel Seminary in Oregon (USA), earning a Bachelor’s degree in Philosophy and a Master of Divinity. He was ordained a priest on March 29, 2003, for the Diocese of Samoa-Pago Pago. Following his ordination, he held the following positions: Chaplain of Marist High School in Fa’asao and Rector of the Cathedral of the Sacred Heart (2003–2007). From 2004, he served as an instructor for the Catechist Training Program and as Diocesan Director of Vocations Ministry; he was Pastor of St. Paul’s Parish in Iliili and Administrator of St. Joseph the Worker in Futiga (2007–2010), as well as a member of the College of Consultors (2007–2013). He served as Chaplain of St. Theresa Elementary School starting in 2007, and from 2008, he attended courses at the Institute on Matrimonial Tribunal Practice at the Catholic University of America. From 2009, he served as Judicial Vicar and Diocesan Director of Youth Ministry (2010–2012); Pastor of Holy Cross Parish in Leone, American Samoa (2010–2017); and Pastor of St. Peter’s Parish and Administrator of St. Joseph the Worker (2010–2021). Since 2021, he has served as Chancellor of the Diocese and Rector of the Holy Family Cathedral in Fatu-o-Aiga.
