Bishop of San Miguel
Bishop Damián Gustavo Nannini, Bishop of San Miguel, was born on September 15, 1961, in Rosario, in the Archdiocese of Rosario. After his primary and secondary studies at the Sagrado Corazón College of Rosario, he entered the San Carlos Borromeo Seminary in Rosario. He was ordained a priest for Rosario on December 15, 1989, and obtained a licentiate in sacred scripture from the Pontifical Biblical Institute in Rome. He exercised his priestly ministry in the cathedral church of Rosario and then as formator, professor and rector in the metropolitan seminary; adviser to Catholic Action; rector of the Niño Jesús church; parish priest of Nuestra Señora de la Guardia; expert of the Episcopal Commission for Faith and Culture of the Episcopal Conference of Argentina; coordinator of the archdiocesan biblical animation team; secretary of the Association of Biblical Scholars of Argentina; and a member of the editorial boards of the Revista Bíblica Argentina and of the journal Pastor. He served as director of the biblical school of CEBITEPAL in Colombia, and has written several publications on biblical and theological subjects. On November 7, 2018, he was appointed Bishop of San Miguel. He received episcopal ordination on December 14, 2018, at San Miguel, with Sergio Alfredo Fenoy as principal consecrator and Eduardo Eliseo Martín and Eduardo Vicente Mirás as co-consecrators.
