Bishop Domenico Beneventi

Domenico Beneventi was born on February 8, 1974, in Castelmezzano (Potenza), within the Archdiocese of Acerenza. He completed his philosophical and theological studies at the Interdiocesan Major Seminary of Basilicata. He was ordained a priest on July 3, 1999, for the Archdiocese of Acerenza. He has held the following roles and pursued further studies: Assistant Pastor, Parish Administrator, and Pastor at the Parish of the Assumption of the Virgin Mary in Laurenzana, Potenza (1999–2010); Director of the Diocesan Office for Youth Ministry (2000–2023); Religion teacher at the Galilei State Scientific High School in Potenza (2004–2007); Parish Administrator in Pietrapertosa, Potenza (2008–2009); Research Assistant at the CEI (Italian Episcopal Conference) Office for Youth Ministry (2008–2013); collaborator with the CEI Office for Social Communications (since 2019); Pastor of San Nicola di Bari in Pietragalla, Potenza (since 2013); Professor of Pastoral Theology, Catechetics, and Pedagogy at the Theological Institute of Basilicata (since 2013); holder of a Licentiate in the Theology of Education (2012) and a Doctorate in Pastoral Theology (2018) from the Pontifical Lateran University in Rome; and Director of the Diocesan Catechetical Office (since 2021). The Holy Father has accepted the resignation from the pastoral governance of the Diocese of San Marino-Montefeltro presented by H.E. Msgr.
